Community Service

Habitat for Humanity Lake County welcomes community service volunteers

COURT ORDERED HOURS

  • Pre-registration is required
  • You must provide Habitat with a copy of your court order
    (in the event no court order is available a letter from your attorney with the following details: hours required, court ordering the service and deadline, will be accepted  
  • You must make your own arrangements
  • We will determine the location of your service based on our volunteer needs
  • You must be at least 16 years old

    Record your hours or lose them!
    •  Bring the blue Service Hours Time Sheet with you each time you work  
    •  Have a Habitat representative sign off each time you volunteer
    •  Return your original  blue time sheet(s) to our office for signature.  
    •  No blue sheet, No hours, NO EXCEPTIONS
    •  If court contact information is provided, Habitat will report your hours as recorded on our blue time sheet.

    Please Note: We regret that we will not be able to sign off on court ordered community service hours if you have not followed the pre-registration requirements

    If following our procedure is a problem, speak with your court services office, lawyer or judge about being assigned elsewhere.

    If service hours are not court ordered you may use our Volunteer Time Sheet or make your own.  
    A signed time sheet will be required for anyone needing a letter of confirmation of service.

  • Schedule time to visit our office to receive a Community Service Packet
  • Submit your school or court paperwork
  • Schedule your hours

    Construction

  • Full days (8:00 am to 4 pm Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Saturday).
  • NO half or partial days
  • If you are 16 or 17 years old you MUST have a parent or adult guardian working with you the full day.  

    ReStore:
    Tuesday thru Friday: 9am-1pm, 1pm-5pm, 9am-5pm
    Saturday:   8:30am-2:30pm or 8:30-4:30
    NOT AVAILABLE:   Shifts shorter than 4 hours

    Our retail outlet is an integral part of our business. We keep tons of material out of the landfill by recycling them back into use as customers purchase our product.   Youth volunteers must schedule shifts of at least 4 hours to be effective for their learning and for our management.  ALL volunteers must be at least 16 years of age.

    Many individuals have volunteered with Habitat for Humanity Lake County and most leave feeling they received more than they gave! We hope you find your experience with Habitat worthwhile.  You are welcome to return after your required hours are complete.
